Audience segmentation

Reaching more people is not always better. Reaching the right people with the right message at the right time is what moves the business.

The segmentation problem in most Paid Media accounts is not a lack of data. The data exists. It just is not connected. CRM data sits in one place, web behavior data in another, purchase data somewhere else.

When each tool works with its own data, audiences are built with a partial view of the buyer. Budgets are spent on broad audiences because there is no confidence that specific audiences are large enough, or potential buyers are excluded because the segmentation system does not recognize their behavior across other channels.

At Elogia, audience segmentation starts from integrated data across the full channel. Web behavior data, purchases, CRM history, and marketplace activity are connected to build more precise and more actionable audiences.

What we do

Data source integration for segmentation

We connect the available data sources (CRM, ecommerce, web analytics, marketplace data) to build a unified view of the buyer. That view enables segmentation by real behavior, not just demographic characteristics.

Audience architecture by funnel stage

Acquisition audiences, remarketing audiences, and retention audiences have different needs. We design the audience architecture for each funnel stage, with inclusion and exclusion criteria that maximize the relevance of each impression.

Lookalike audiences and prospecting

From the highest-value segments, we build lookalike audiences for acquiring new buyers with similar profiles. The quality of lookalike audiences depends directly on the quality of the seed data: the better defined the reference segment, the more precise the prospecting audiences.

Segmentation for lead scoring in service businesses

In businesses that close with a sales agent, segmentation affects not only Paid Media but also the scoring of generated leads. We build segmentation models that identify the characteristics of leads most likely to convert to customers, feeding both campaigns and the scoring system.

Frequently asked questions

The more real behavioral data, the better. The useful minimums are web traffic data with configured behavior events, purchase or conversion history, and CRM data if it exists. With only demographic data, segmentation is imprecise. With behavioral and purchase data, segmentation can be very specific.

Third-party cookies allowed tracking buyers across different websites to build cross-site behavioral audiences. Their gradual disappearance forces a greater reliance on first-party data: CRM, behavioral data from the brand's own website, customer lists. Brands with a strong first-party data foundation are less affected than those that depended on third-party audiences.

A value audience is a segment defined by its profitability to the business, not just by behavior. It is built by crossing behavioral data with purchase data and margins: not all frequent buyers are equally valuable if some only buy during promotions or have a high return rate.
